After a nearly three year hiatus, Chris Rado and WORLD Racing returned to the Sunshine State June 1-2, 2012 for round 3 of Global Time Attack at Palm Beach International Raceway.
Weather would play a factor, but in the end the team came out on top with Chris securing his third first place win of the season in unlimited GT FF and setting a new FWD track record in his Need for Speed Scion tC. The crew had their work cut out for them all weekend, fighting power steering issues in the Fwing 2.0 but worked diligently to find a solution and bring home the win.

Chris hits the wall at 175mph, then the crew works through the night to make repairs to the Need for Speed Scion Racing Fwing 2.0 just in time to get Chris back out on track the following day.
Chris ends up setting a new FWD track record and securing a win in Unlimited GT FF.

Fires, fires and more fires for the WORLD Racing team. WORLD Racing heads in to Buttonwillow Raceway Park for the 2012 season opener of Global Time Attack. The team spent a better portion of the day diagnosing some shifting and oil pressure issues but were able to overcome and get out on the track in the afternoon.
Len Monserrat, long time friend of Chris and WORLD Racing joined us for the weekend. Len even strapped in to the Fwing 2.0 to join Chris for a ride of a lifetime but it was cut short when the Fwing 2.0 suffered a broken hub which led to a small fire due to a brake fluid leaking on the hot brake rotor.
Will WORLD Racing overcome and be able to set a new track record, or will the incredible heat get the best of them?

Chris Rado pushes his 1,200 horsepower front-wheel drive Scion tC to the absolute limits during the Global Time Attack season opener at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California. Coming around one of the final turns of his hot lap a cam sensor failed which locked up the cam and eventually put a rod through the block igniting the fire and burning a portion of the engine bay amongst other parts and electronic components. The onboard fire suppression system failed when Chris Rado pulls the pin. Thankfully the driver was able to walk away unharmed and extinguishes the fire with backup fire extinguisher.

After months of intense preparatory work on FWING 2.0, the World Racing team packs everything up and heads across country for the 2nd Global Time Attack event at NJ Motorsports Park.
Scott Stanwood and Eric Plebani problem solve some issues with the master cylinder after the first qualifying session, while Mike Alejos searches all over New Jersey for a much needed waste gate. In lieu of the needed part, Eric and Scott "Frankenstein" together a waste gate from some extra Turbonetics supplies on the truck . According the Christian Rado "the guys made some makeshift modifications to get the car on the road. For all intensive purposes, it worked, but the car made 51 lbs. of boost EVERYWHERE!"
The following morning, the boys get the car dialed and in the first GTA TIME ATTACK session, Rado destroys the previous FWD track record by 8 SECONDS, his best lap time a 1:05:481.

This continuation of the Global Time Attack season opener follows Chris Rado as he pushes Fwing tC in an attempt to re-set his current course record at Willow Springs International Raceway. After the GTA session, Chris and Team Need For Speed prepare the AWD tC for battle in the NASA Time Trials, gathering some much needed data on the car.
Recently Rado and Team Need for Speed pulled double duty out at Willow Springs for the Global Time Attack season opener and NASA Time Trials with a goal of re-setting his FWD track record. It wouldn't come easy, as the team struggled with suspension settings and eventually suffered a turbo failure.
