Lights. Turbos. Action!
2005 SEMA Show Wrap Up

The 2005 was one of the biggest successes of the year for WORLD Racing and WORLD electronics. The Pro FWD 1400 horsepower Scion tC was on display in the Scion booth, the Scion tC turbo widebody was on display in the Extreme Dimensions booth, the WORLD electronics booth was displaying the TBC-1 and introduction to the Descendant turbo kits and the rest of the team was working on a Yahoo! Auto Custom tune and build off with stock Mitsubishi Evolution VIIIs. The teams had 3 days to take stock vehicles and turn them into powerful beasts and then race heads up in a street race down the Vegas strip at 3 a.m. and it was all caught on video by all the cameramen on the scene. Don't you wish you went this year? Well, if you missed it, we have some photos to catch you up on the important stuff.

Chris Rado’s FWD race car was also on display

WORLD electronics was showcasing the TBC-1 as well as the upcoming Descendant turbo kits for the Scion tC. The TBC-1 is currently available and the turbo kits will be available this Spring.

The Scion tC TWSV with the signature Chris Rado widebody kit was designed in-house by WORLD Racing Design and brought to life by extreme dimensions. Available this spring.

The big event of the week at the SEMA show this year was the three day Yahoo! Build off with the Mitsubishi Evolution VIIIs. With Chris Rado heading one build team with likes including Eric Plebani, Kurt Seibels, and Martin Musial against Paul Efantis, his brother Krys Efantis and Jason Hunt heading another – pioneers in the sport compact drag racing circuit are building cars in a record pace.

WORLD Racing and Motorsports' Eric Plebani tackling the challenge of pulling the 550 ponies hidden under the sheet metal of this Mitsubishi Evo in just three days with limited tools and equipment. Martin Musial (not pictured) had the task of doing the EMS tuning and getting the ECU flowing smoothly with all the new power adders put into the car

Even the stars came out to the event. Eric Plebani took a few minutes to show Funkmaster Flex why WORLD Racing was going to win the event. The points for the challenge were based on style, horsepower and the final drag race on the Vegas Strip. The teams had a selection of parts to choose from, limited tools to work with and even less sleep.

It may be hard to see, but then again, it was 3 a.m. The two Evos line up for the drag race that closed down Las Vegas Blvd. (First time in history) with thousands lined up all the way down the road. Chris Rado (left) took the lead right after Funkmaster Flex flagged the start and didn't let up until he won at the end. It was all caught on tape by one of the many video cameramen out recording for various television shows reporting on the scene. We will update the site as news makes way of what channels it will all appear on.

All the bolt-ons under the hood wouldn't have been worthwhile if there wasn't a TBC-1 in the dash. The WORLD electronics TBC-1 worked great in the Evo and was an excellent addition to the build. The WORLD Racing Evo team wasn't the only one to see significant power gains using the TBC-1. Twins Turbo was able to pull an additional 62 WHP out of their Supra.

The Mitsubishi Evolution VIII comes to the showroom with 276 horsepower. The WORLD Racing team was able to double that for the contest. The numbers were incredible: 549.99 horsepower, 34 psi of boost on the stock EVO engine. The WORLD Racing team had 3 days, limited tools and a lift that kept breaking on them and they still managed to pull numbers like this. The best part, is they can do the same for your vehicle.
